[abuse] my parents beat me
( O V E R A L L ) macy was born just a year after her three older siblings died, as the replacement child. her parents sometimes hit her to take out their frustrations with her siblings' deaths, still do sometimes. this caused her to become very introverted at a young age. even as a sophomore, she prefers to be by herself than with people. crowds make her nervous, and she always feels like all eyes are on her. she's never had a real friend, and once, when she was in seventh grade and a popular boy was assigned to be her partner on a project, she overheard him ask for a different partner because macy was 'weird'. this made things worse in the social area.
macy doesn't have a very strong personality; this isn't the best thing in the world, since most anyone can order her around because of it. she's very often taken advantage of in her home and at school -- some people like to make her their partner on big projects because she'll willingly do all the work, just because she gets happy that someone chose her to be their partner.

( O V E R A L L ) Macy was born one year after her three older siblings died. She was a happy baby, quiet, and she didn't realize just how much her parents didn't care for her until she was four, until the first time her dad hit her. Instead of helping, her mother followed suit in the days after. It wasn't so bad those first times. She figures now that no one would be able to really hit a toddler that hard. The laughing, dimpled, rosy-cheeked toddler became very quiet, very introverted, and preferred to be by herself more than anything. She made no friends, and only talked when she had to. A teacher made note of this: the happy kid, who was once just shy but now barely spoke even to the nicest of other toddlers. She called her parents, and her parents then proceeded to hit the little girl when she got home. The next day, when bruises were apparent on her face and arms, the teacher decided to leave the issue alone, not wanting to get Macy hurt even more.
Throughout elementary school, Macy was hit constantly. She grew up in a household where, if you so much as looked at someone wrong, you would get smacked for it. She didn't make any friends, but she was known as that weird girl who stuttered when someone talked to her, who looked no one in the eye and who didn't wear nice clothes like the rest of the kids. It became a vicious circle; the other kids avoided her like she avoided them, approaching her only to tease. Macy got very, very good at walking away, or pretending terrible stomachaches. These sometimes backfired, since the nurse was a kind old woman, concerned because of the bruises that appeared on her face and arms constantly.
During this time, her parents often talked about her dead siblings, of how beautiful they had been and how sweet and kind. They would often get tears in their eyes. Macy, being understanding and wanting to see the very best in her parents, decided that they simply missed her deceased siblings, weren't trying to imply that she wasn't as good as they were. On good days, her parents would be happy or they would take her to the cemetery, to show her where her siblings were buried. After a half an hour at the cemetery, they were always in a bad mood. After the cemetery, she was always smacked around for a little while. After the cemetery, Macy could always hear her mother cry.
Now, Macy is still quiet, still nervous when anyone talks to her. She walks through the halls quickly, staring at the floor, like if she looks at anyone wrong she'll get a whack or two. Macy still doesn't have any friends, sits alone by herself at lunch, dresses in cheap clothes she, herself had to buy from Wal-Mart and Shopko. Her parents don't hit her very much, since her mom usually works nights and she tries to get home late enough so that her dad is already passed out on the couch, beer in hand.
